The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is an iconic British biplane designed in the 1930’s designed by Geoffrey de Havilland. The model was operated as a primary civilian and military trainer aircraft and in addition during the Second World War, RAF Tiger Moths operated in other capacities, including maritime surveillance and defensive anti-invasion preparations; some aircraft were even outfitted to function as armed light bombers. In total 8,868 Tiger Moths were built between 1931 and 1944 with the aircraft operated by 24 air forces as well as civilian operators.
